From the Desk of the President

WELCOME TO THE NEW MA. STATE ASSOCIATION WEBSITE!

We are a work in process so any input will be appreciated . We are locked into difficult times as letter carriers . For many , adjusting to an FSS environment while wondering what our future holds as letter carriers has become extremely stressful. Twenty - nine years ago , my OJI and shop steward said to me " OUR JOBS CAN BE GONE WITH THE STROKE OF A PEN.'Never in our history has that statement been more true. I long ago discovered that taking ACTION allleviates anxiety.IF YOU ARE NOT AN E-ACTIVIST PLEASE BECOME ONE !The action messages we receive from National are crucial to our survival.I know firsthand the difficulties of working our job and coming home to turn on a computer , a slow one at that . We are all in this together as a UNION and all of you need to step up to the plate.

This website is designed for all of you .If your Branch would like to have an information page please let us know . My best to all of you!

Yours in Solidarity,

Maureen Marinelli

Stop H.R. 2309

Keep getting the word out to any news media you can. So far Dave Barbuzzi President Br 25 had an article printed in the Boston Herald and Kevin Poe VP Br. 212 had his article printed the the Lawrence Eagle Tribune. Both articles were also posted on the NALC's website. Keep us informed send articles to your local newspapers, national newspapers.

HELP US GET THE WORD OUT!

Getting out the message

The NALC Communications Department would like to help you get the NALC's message out to the public. Few things are more central to our job security and our ability to provide top-flight service to the American public than countering the misleading rhetoric about the Postal Service. We need to inform people, and their elected representatives, of the real story.

Your voice and your involvement are key in this. If you read or hear misleading news reports or commentaries that require a response, or if you have an idea for a column or letter to the editor that might interest people, let us know.

We can help work out a strategy to make it happen, and we'll play as big or small a role as you'd like. You know your local media better than anyone, and your initiative in presenting the message at the community and state levels is vitally important in complementing President Rolando's interviews and op-ed pieces from Headquarters.

Call us at 202-662-2850, or e-mail us at Dine@nalc.org -- and together we'll make a difference!
